Have fun in BootCamp Office!
BootCamp — is an onboarding office for newbies of a large technological company.

The first weeks working at Sber must be memorable, exciting, and energizing for the trainees in order to foster enthusiasm for a long career ahead. Working with this concept, the design team developed the three zones, each executed in their own key - Fire, Water, and Brass Pipes.

"To go through Fire, Water, and Brass Pipes" is a Russian idiom meaning to persevere in the
face of whatever challenges life holds in store for you. It is a widely understood concept,
familiar to Russians young and old. Here, it is used extensively to define the aesthetic character of the Boot Camp. After all this is where rookies endure challenges and tests preparing them for just about any tasks and puzzles they may encounter in their professional future at Sber!
Anamorphoses
Office of SberTech in Sankt-Peterburg
When there are more restrictions than opportunities, ingenuity has to be uncovered. This is the office of Sbertech in St. Petersburg, where, as part of a redecoration (in fact, only the colors of the walls and furniture could be offered), we revealed the theme of continuous transformation. Two identical dull corridors are perfect for drawing anamorphoses: at the beginning of the corridor we see a clear inscription, and when moving it turns into huge abstract stripes. In offices, anamorphic shapes smoothly transform from one figure to another - it is unlikely that employees will immediately notice this, but this is also good for durable spaces.
Sea Expedition
Input data brief overview:
A large European tech company is going to open an office in the southern region to give employees the opportunity to work remotely for several months a year and enjoy the mediterranean climate.

Objective:
To offer a vibrant concept that fully reflects the essence of a remote work space. To find an idea that will form the basis of all components of the project. The project should be memorable and attractive in news publications.

The great geographical discoveries contributed to the transition from the Middle Ages to the new time. Today, our era is being shaped by technology pioneers.

The office space itself is a huge map, on which we can see the path traveled during the expedition. Giant pins with flags indicating the names of mastered technologies.

— A "sailor" can work with a laptop in a soft raft on a bean bag chair.
— There is an option for introverted travelers - they can retire to a single bathyscaphe.
— We can gather the entire expedition team for a common formation in a large open space.
— The sailor can rest in the net with the catch, if he guesses that the fish are actually pillows with fish prints.
SberDevices office
Aesthetics, responsiveness, intelligence.
We love good devices — design, textures, packaging... This can be reflected in space.
Even a transport box can become an image for meeting room or soft ottomans for teamwork. The aesthetics of the prototyping process itself can shape the image of the conference room.
Post-pandemic
Offices will never be the same.
Most employees work from home without a fixed workplace. The office is used for team meetings, group work, live communication and socialization. The emphasis in office zoning is on collaboration, what would employees prefer work from home for tasks requiring concentration. Transformable space allows for general meetings, offline + online
meetups, conferences. The office should be conducive to organizing and informal
meetings outside working hours: play billiards, shuffleboard, come to a yoga class in the evening, play board games. Employees working from home should be able to see each other regularly, feel connected to the team.
Activity Based Workspace
This is a fundamental work based on research: mesurements (lighting, noise level, level of CO2, temperature, humidity), interviews with employees of different levels, special observations and problem identification.

A number of solutions in key areas was proposed: Involvement — Space calls positive emotions, wants to return to it. Health — Fatigue reduction: acoustic comfort, normal performance air, correct scenarios lighting, ergonomic, furniture and variety. Functional — Zones for everyone required activities and competent planning solution.

Art + corporate culture
Conference hall renovation concept
A few years ago, we invited the talented artist Andrey Berger to decorate the SberTech conference hall, because his style fully corresponded to the brand's values. With the change in the brand platform, there was a need to update the general layout of the conference hall and add corporate colors. But the meanings that graffiti conveys are still relevant.
Therefore, it was decided to decorate the walls with planks with a corporate gradient, between which you can read the artwork. We updated the whole space with floor, ceiling, lighting scenarios, but at the same time we kept the work of art of our favorite artist.

Cubic lanterns appeared as an illustration of the image of the community of people from the concept of corporate culture. They repeat the main color of the presentation on the main screen.

Test-fit
What is a test-fit?
It is a preliminary planning solution that shows main functional capabilities of considering site before making total measurements.

Combined with a space concept and consultation, it is the best inspiring start for any commercial project.

Bypassing the obstacles
Concept of office hall renewal was all about maneuvering between constraints: no drilling of walls, no change of floor, no modification of the structure of the main ceiling...
But the decision was found!
The soaring transforming forms of the ceiling convey the concept of corporate culture through a light form and recognizable shades.
A long corridor allows this form to open immediately at the entrance to the building.

A soft transition from one color to another symbolizes the transition to a new quality.

Women's clothing store

The theses about honesty and sincerity from the brand platform have found their application in the concept of the store interior.

With the help of the simplest attributes from the world of clothing production we managed to compose a set of unique ideas.

Future Store
Business challenge:
Develop a concept for a better customer experience
in food retail based on future technologies to create a B2B product for retail companies.

Objective:
Create a new customer shopping experience using Sberbank's competitive advantages: customer data, transactions and behavior patterns, APIs and payment services.

Product designers: Daniil Melkikh, Tanya Pinchuk. UX Researchers: Alina Ermakova, Marina Suslova, Elena Beltsova. Architects: Alexander Mikhailik, Evgeniya Ivashura

Interactive Coffee
A small coffee shop that specializes in capsule coffee.

The company delivers rare varieties of coffee according to the taste preferences of its customers, so it was decided to emphasize the responsiveness of the service with the help of an interactive kinetic installation.

Phygital shelf
Phygital is a combination of physical and digital.
This example clearly shows how this can be applied.
The task is to change the habit of buying familiar things in a physical store.
Three rows of familiar products are placed under glass, and the continuation of these rows appears on the screen in the form of an interface of online store.

When scrolling products in the interface, physical products react and move in sync with the scroll. Thus, we effectively show that familiar things can be bought online.

Pop-Up Stores
Temporary installation of SberDevices
for placement in shopping malls.

The goal is the recognition of the image of the virtual assistant Salyut
and the Sber brand as a technology company.

The installation is built around images of the benefits that the client ultimately receives:
speed and convenience in everyday life and in the acquisition of goods and services.

Visitor engagement:
— an image of a voice assistant in an interactive installation;
— AR games and applications;
— demonstration of gesture and voice control;
— interactive game with free prizes;

— a special installation for provocative photography and video shooting.

On the first screen: Say "Salute, I want a ball" - on this command, the ball falls beyond the first screen.
Simultaneously with the fall of the physical ball, the same ball falls on the screen and plugs the kettle's nose.
Salute, turn on the kettle - they show the operation of the Sber smart socket, the water boils, the ball flies to the right, simultaneously with the rolling of the physical ball.
Then the ball rolls to the next screens according to the corresponding commands: Turn on the music, open the curtain, change the color of the floor lamp, bring popcorn, etc. (there will be 3 consecutive sets of scenarios).

Before the ball falls into the basket on the last screen, you need to scan the QR code with Salute mobile app. (activation of new users + protection against greedy people)

Anticipation
— is the feeling that we experience while waiting for the delivery of new devices. The shipping box is the first thing we see upon receipt. We are building on this rather important and recognizable image the concept of commercial equipment.
Presenting devices flexible
Sberdevices interactive kiosks
Perform the following tasks:
Interest. Make you want to come.
Engage. Try the device in action.
Sell. Vending machine or storage system.
And have following features:
Modularity. The ability to place in rooms with different geometries.

Working with restrictions. Illumination from ceiling lights, noise from visitors, wear-resistant materials.

Web Summit 2021
Sber's booth at Web Summit 2021 in Lisbon
Sber exhibits its devices, this was the first showcase of SberDevices. The following products was presented at the booth: SberPortal, which is a smart display of the future. SberPortal has won 3 international design awards: Red Dot (twice) and iF Award. SberBox Top, which is a smart camera for video calls, video games and sports which recognizes both voice and gestures and communicates with Sber's own virtual assistants Salut. The whole idea of this booth was built around introduction of the image of Salut.
Salute inside: array of controlled LED stripes — interactive volumetric animation.

The exploded diagram of the real SberPortal embedded in a hemisphere was a main point of attraction. Project was marked for the most impressive booth design at the WebSummit event.

Sky-high dreams
Interactive installation in the Tretyakov Gallery
The main exposition ends with a comparison of a full-size reconstruction of the old Home Information Machine project and the art object of the SberPortal explosion diagram.
The text description of the Sber booth goes into interaction with the Visper virtual guide on SberPortal or on a mobile device.
A surreal space filled with clouds and pleasant music symbolizes the future and the dreams that shape it. The magic of the birth of a new idea is illustrated by familiar examples of exhibits from the main exhibition. Their contours are guessed in 3D frames emerging from the wall.
AI entity (Salute) offers to answer one question “what do you dream about?” and after a short “AI cloud computing” (RuDALL-e) shows his interpretation of what he heard.
Unique generative graphics become the texture of a cloud that you can sit on and take a picture of.

If a flash is used, a hidden message is revealed in the photo.

SPIEF
Monocolor solutions
There are fewer and fewer everyday user scenarios that do not involve Sber.
In order for the viewer to appreciate the scale and scope of our ecosystem, we fully recreate all kinds of spaces in which a person can meet our products: a park, store, office, garage, flat, cafe, museum, production, ect.
It is important to convey the atmosphere as detailed as possible, but to avoid visual noise.

To do this, we use monocolor solutions (everything is totally painted in colors from our corporate gradient - each zone has its own shade).

KID's Lab
Space for brainstorming
The human brain consists of 2 hemispheres. The right is responsible for creativity and the left for logical thinking. In the same way, the hall is noticeably divided into two halves: in one there is a riot of colors and images from fairy-tale folklore, in the other - logical puzzles, calculations, exact sciences.
Gymnasium
As part of the project, the tasks of planning, redesign, and conceptual filling of spaces were solved. There were many limitations in the initial data, which we successfully solved with the help of the project.

Visual harmony and relevance isn’t the only value one can get from the surrounding space appearance. Every decision taken in a project design has to reflect a certain semantic massage as well. Interaction with the surroundings which are designed based on an idea that is readable at the back of one’s mind provides better involvement and way deeper emotional affection. Such spaces attract more visitors, guests, valuable employees, investors and customers.
